Yesil Valiz Association for Responsible Tourism; consists of courageous volunteers who want to protect the local history, nature and culture. The aim of these volunteers, whose number is increasing day by day, is to make the cultural heritage and local development the focal point of tourism.
The association aims to disseminate the responsible tourism principles which are accepted in the 2002 Cape Town Declaration in Turkey. It works to increase women's employment opportunities in rural areas with community-based tourism projects, to encourage alternative tourism practices that respect nature, and to organize activities to ensure that cultural heritage, which is the concrete expression of collective memory, is interpreted in a way that will serve national and international peace.
With its 36 members and more than 200 volunteers, Yeşil Valiz is part of a wide international network as the Turkey representative of ICRT (International Center for Responsible Tourism) and Equality in Tourism..
